KhukuriBlades.Com is an internet venture of Khukuri House Thamel in collaboration with Joshi Merchants LLC, USA. Khukuri House Thamel is the manufacturer and distributor of the finest Kukris in Nepal. Established by Mr. lalit Lama, an ex-British Gurkha Warrant Officer in 1993 is the first genuine Gurkha Knife store in the heart of thamel (tourist area) in Katmandu, Nepal. It also is the only supplier of Kukris to the British Gurkha Units, the Gurkha Contingent of Singapore Police, the Gurkha Reserve Unit in Brunie and the Gurkha Museum in the UK. The House now sends its kukris to number of shops all over the world as well as retailing its kukris in Kathmandu.

Khukuri House thamel has a number of factories in east Nepal where each and every one of its Kukris are specially hand crafted and designed. The making of a single kukri keeps four men fully occupied for an entire day, sometimes even more. Everything is done by hand and the only machine used is a lathe or shining the kukri. The final product is then checked and rechecked many times over and then only packed to be transported to khukuri House thamel, Kathmandu.

What makes khukuri House Thamel so special!! The same thing which makes the kukri so revered; four men working a full day to craft each blade, high grade carbon steel, authenticity rather than decoration. These are the real things, not fancified souvenirs peddled by hawkers on the streets or the disgraced ones sold by other stores with jealousy. They are honest, powerful and graceful blades, which have the pride of legendary Gurkhas for nearly 200 years and the pride of their owners since times immemorial. I, Sanjay lama, eldest son of Mr Lalit lama, am the proprietor of khukuri House at Thamel and the most senior staff of this House since its establishment in 1991. Been in the business long enough than anyone else in this Khukuri business. There were no Khukuri shops before to sell khukuris and were only found in the streets as Cheap gift items. It was because of this House now the Khukuri blades are the most Prized Possession and the Best Unique Souvenir to take from Nepal, that has Historical background and the Bravery of the Legendary Gurkhas attached to it. It is an awesome tool as well. Now in 2018, the site is being updated and I, Sanjay, am still with the House.

Raj KC, a local from Balaju, Kathmandu, has been the senior most staff since 2008. He is a Sales Person and also handles all management like quality control, maintenance and every other bit this House needs to run the business.
